Review: Aritaum Modi Glam Nails (#174 X-MAS)

This review was sponsored by Twofacemall. All opinions expressed are mine and 100% honest.

This review should've been up a couple of days ago, but finals came and all I could do was study and finish up an essay. BUT Now I have all the time in the world (not literally) so~ Continuing with the post holiday spirit- a nail polish from Aritaum's Modi Nail Holiday Limited Edition.

아리따움 모디 글램네일즈 174호 X-MAS

Name: Aritaum Modi Glam Nails #175 X-MAS
Price: 3,500원 ($3.29)
Size: 10ml
Description: "Brilliant nail colors with shiny and glamorous pigment"

From the promo pics I thought the bottle was a rectangle and the design was a sticker on the front, but turns out it was just a piece of cardboard on the outside of the bottle. The actual bottle looks like the regular Modi Glam Nails.
I took the pictures on different days so the lighting will be different on a couple of them
Height: 8 cm | Diameter: 3.9 cm
So here is how the actual bottle looks. It's made out of glass and it's pretty sturdy. On the bottom of the bottle you can see the name and number of the color, and the manufacture date.

And here's the brush~

I used flash on most of these pictures to capture how the glitter looks when the light catches on it.
I find the brush not too wide and not too narrow, which is nice compared to the other nail polishes from brands like Etude House and Innisfree.

This really does have "glamorous" pigment, as Aritaum claims. The color is gorgeous as well. It looks silver but when the light shines down on it you can see reflections of blue, green, red, etc. This isn't one of those glitter nail polishes that requires a bottom coat of color for it to look pretty, it looks amazing on its own! ^^

The nail polish applies on evenly and it's not streaky at all! This was with just one coat, and it dried in less than 10 minutes. However, I think it's because I didn't apply a top coat, but this polish chips really easily. It started chipping after 2 days. While it's nice to that it's not as difficult to remove as other glitter nail polishes, I don't really want it to be that easy to remove either.

Pros
-Easy application
-Beautiful color
-Very pigmented
-Brush isn't too wide or too narrow
-Dries in less than 10 minutes

Cons
-Chips easily

Overall Score: 4/5

Repurchase? Not in this color since it was limited edition, but I think I will try some of the other Modi polishes. I've heard so many good things about their nail polishes that I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and see if it's just this one color that chips easily. Also the gorgeous colors and pigmentation totally make up for it.

Where to buy:

Twofacemall no longer carries this specific color, but you can purchase two other colors from the holiday collection for $5.59 here. Also, if you're interested in the Modi Glam Nails in other colors, Twofacemall also carries about a hundred of them here for just $5.23. Don't forget to use my code 7PA7N600 to receive $2 off any minimum order of $50.

A few announcements:

-Good news for any fans of Benton! They just recently released two new products: the Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin and Lotion.

-According to many sources, on February 17th Targets in the US will start carrying Laneige products! ^^ I'm so excited even though it's probably going to be really overpriced.

-And last but not least, start following Etude House's Instagram if you haven't already. They're releasing preview pics of their upcoming spring collection and I have to say that the lip colors look promising ^^

Anyways~ Thank you to Taisoon Kim for sending me products to review! :) Don't forget to check out Twofacemall, they have a great selection and shipping is extremely fast.

  3. Ooh, very pretty! I didn't expect it to be able to worn alone - it looks gorgeous and sparkly ^_^
I liked the outer packaging - it would've been so cute if it was rectangular!

  4. Neither did I! I had my doubts at first but luckily it looks nice when you wear it alone. ^^ I like the outer packaging too, I wish rectangular~

  5. Really? Haha nail polish doesn't last long on me either because I have a tendency to pick at them. You know, a navy blue undercoat sounds great! I'll have to try that some day.

  6. The polish is so pretty! (haha~ It matches the name of your blog ice snow princess~ glittery, iridescent, and oh so pretty~) I've never tried Modi polishes...mainly because I've never heard of the brand until your review, so I'll most definitely check it out!

    Thanks for the review Gloria!

  7. Haha thank you! You're too nice ^^; I actually find my blog name a bit embarrassing.

This is my first time trying Modi polishes as well, but I think you'd like them :) From what I've seen, the other colors are just as pretty. Thanks for reading~

  10. my nailes ALWAYS chip or dent w/in 10 mins of application so i've really given up on caring about that. thats w/ a top coat too! i'm that special LOL> but having said that, this is such a lovely color and looks great by itself. it would be awesome over top of a navy too!

  11. I tried it for New Years Day. It didn't even last me a day. Granted, I was washing dishes and stuff, but I noticed when I got home, that a big chunk of it came off at the tips of 5 of my nails (3 on my right hand, 2 on my left). By the way, this was with 2 coats of the color and a base coat on top. I'll prob. end up throwing it out, too bad.

  12. I have a few Modi polishes. Some of the colors are streaky, and some are okay. I noticed glitters are actually better than the plain colors.

  13. Really? Aww I'm sorry to hear that >__< Mine didn't last me for very long either, like I mentioned, it usually chips after 2 days or so for me. It really sucks how it didn't even last a day for you though. From your other comment it seems like Modi polishes aren't that great, so I guess I won't try any of the other colors. Thanks for telling me! :)

  14. Actually, it's not all of the colors. I only have about 4 or 5 and it's mostly the lighter colors that streak. I should try more but I only get them when one of my friends goes to Korea and that's not very often. I do have 2 really nice glitters and one green.
